چکیده

Mercury (Hg), as the most potentially hazardous heavy metal, has accumulated in aquatic environment and caused concern about its safety. To test toxic effects of mercury chloride (Hg2+) on rare minnow (Gobiocypris rarus), acute toxicity Hg2+ to embryos, newly hatched larvae, juvenile fish, short-term developmental embryo sac-fry stages, were investigated. The 96-h LC50 values fish 0.56, 0.07, 0.10 mg/L, respectively, suggesting larvae sensitive, followed by while embryos resistant response an challenge. research data revealed that safe level exposure for was 0.7 μg/L. In addition, LOEC (lowest observed effect concentration) NOEC (no heartbeat, mortality, malformation rate, body length survived identically, 0.05 0.01 respectively. These findings indicated had lethal at different life sensitive stage. above have important implications better understanding environmental risk assessment organisms.

Developmental Toxicity of Carbon Quantum Dots to the Embryos/Larvae of Rare Minnow (Gobiocypris rarus)

The toxic effects of CDs on rare minnow (Gobiocypris rarus) embryos at different developmental stages were investigated. The results showed that rare minnow embryos had decreased spontaneous movements, body length, increased heart rate, pericardial edema, yolk sac edema, tail/spinal curvature, various morphological malformations, and decreased hatching rate. Biochemical analysis showed the CDs ...

Identification and characterization of expressed sequence tags from the liver of rare minnow (Gobiocypris rarus).

Rare minnow (Gobiocypris rarus) is a newly developed aquatic test organism that has been widely used in a range of studies of toxicological risk assessment by virtue of its higher sensitivity to xenobiotics. To describe extensively the transcripts expressed in the livers of adult rare minnow, we generated 6919 high-quality expressed sequence tags (ESTs) from a non-normalized cDNA library. After...

Morphological variation among wild populations of Chinese rare minnow (Gobiocypris rarus): deciphering the role of evolutionary processes.

Gobiocypris rarus Ye et Fu ( 1983 ) is an endemic cyprinid fish in China, and is considered to be an endangered species. From a conservation perspective, its population structure is interesting. In the present study, morphological variation, including morphometric and meristic traits, was assessed among wild samples collected in the upper Yangtze River basin. There were no significant meristic ...

The Stepwise Behavioral Responses: Behavioral Adjustment of the Chinese Rare Minnow (Gobiocypris rarus) in the Exposure of Carbamate Pesticides

In order to illustrate the behavioral regulation in environmental stress, the behavioral responses of the Chinese rare minnow (Gobiocypris rarus) to arprocarb, carbofuran, and oxamyl were analyzed with an online monitoring system. The Self-Organizing Map (SOM) was used to define the patterns of the behavioral data obtained from treatments at concentrations of 0.1 toxic unit (TU), 1 TU, 2 TU, 5 ...
